Senior Network Administrator

Description

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, securing and monitoring the Local Area Network(LAN), Wide Area Network(WAN) and Cloud-based platforms for AHP Servicing and its sister companies.
General areas of responsibility include:

  • Designing various system platforms for maximum uptime
  • Configuring intuitive, scalable solutions for a diverse user set
  • Documenting, managing the installation and expansion of networks
  • Maintaining, upgrading existing systems as necessary
  • Ensuring the overall security of the collective companies’ digital resources
  • Securing the collective data entrusted to us by our clients and customers

This role requires a strong understanding of network security – ongoing education in network security-related topics is critical.

Collaborative participation from initial design through post-launch support is paramount – this role is expected to interact with a variety of individuals across the various organizations when working to take something from concept to sufficiently scoped and ultimately deployed.

Job Requirements

  • Designing, implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Installing, configuring, supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network fficiency and security
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Tracking, arranging and installing scheduled upgrades
  • Investigating faults in the network
  • Keeping network appliances up-to-date
  • Reporting network status to key stakeholders

Role Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of network design and related security principles
  • Proven ability to implement, maintain, secure multiple network designs
  • Strong background with cloud-based technologies
  • Familiarity with Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) architectures/li>
  • Skilled at measuring, enhancing network system performance
  • Deep understanding of cloud-based Active Directory solutions
  • Fluent with network protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, SFTP, TCP/IP)
  • Experience building, managing hybrid networks
  • Proven ability installing, maintain firewall and VPN configurations
  • Strong understanding of multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods
  • Deep knowledge of Antivirus, Endpoint protection, and Cloud-based endpoint protection solutions
  • Working knowledge of network backup systems and system redundancy including local and cloud-based redundancy
  • Experience implementing data encryption/decryption at reset scenarios
  • Ability to work closely with other Software Developers, Software Engineers and Business Analysts to arrive at combined, integrated solutions
  • Fluent with MSFT 365/Office features and functionality (end-user)
  • Results Oriented – proven track record of delivering quantifiable results to an enterprise-level organization
  • Skilled at relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education/Experience

  • 5+ years direct, hands-on experience with AWS cloud-based solutions
  • 5+ years direct, hands-on experience with network design
  • 5+ years direct, hands-on experience managing ACLs, group policies and permissions in local and cloud-based networks
  • 4+ years direct, hands-on experience determining operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirement gathering, solution development, and proposed solutions
  • 4+ years in determining and designing system specifications
  • 5+ years direct, hands-on experience identifying network components to build-out system (hardware/network specs, cloud servers, licenses, etc.)
  • 6+ years direct, hands-on experience working on Local Network (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WAN), SDWAN, and MPLS design
  • 5+ years direct, hands-on experience working with network components and appliances (routers, firewall, IDs, switches, DHCP, etc.)
  • 4+ years direct, hands-on experience managing, configuring Domain Name System (DNS), DNS records (A, TXT, MX, NS, SRV, etc.)

EXPECTED HOURS

  • Full time position with regular office hours Monday through Friday, typically 8:45 to 5:30 and weekend work may be required from time to time, with some flexibility on start and end times allowed. The employee must be available during the core hours and will work an 8:45- hour day, with a 45 unpaid Lunch breaks and a paid break
