Senior Database Engineer

As a member of the AHP Servicing Technology team, the Senior Database Engineer is a critical role expected to provide data analysis, reporting and business intelligence in support of both internal customers and external clients’ requirements.

The Senior Database Engineer role will work with all internal departments to define, design, develop and implement data architecture, models and reporting solutions that support AHP Servicing’s state goal to deliver best-in-class service for our customers, clients and consumers.

This role requires interaction with a range of internal customers and stakeholders in order to deliver secure, scalable and innovative reporting and data analytics services.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the conception, design, development and deployment of data architecture and data models
  • Extend, manage the on-going data integration with Black Knight (MSP)
  • Lead complex, data and reporting focused projects
  • Design, certify next generation of database technologies
  • Maintain all database management systems to include patching, security, data encryption and auditing
  • Provide on-call support for AHPS’ production databases
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting to minimize application impact
  • Maintain replication and high availability for the databases
  • Perform database and SQL performance tuning
  • Develop best practices and promotes these standards across the team

Role Requirements

  • Extremely fluent with database management, analytics and reporting
  • Fluency with Black Knight products – especially Passport and other data delivery mechanisms out of MSP
  • Time management and related resource/organization skills
  • Fluent with MSFT 365/Office features and functionality (end-user)
  • Excellent internal and client-facing communication abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with database design and administration
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL queries, scripting and automation
  • 5+ years of experience with data architecture design and development
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database and tools SSMS, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting software development life cycle projects (data-focused)
  • 4+ years of experience working with large data sets, transactional platforms, or a combination of both
  • 3+ years of experience with logical & physical data modeling
  • 3+ years of experience with logical & physical data modeling pipeline development, orchestration, monitoring and ETL processing
  • 2+ years of experience with Git, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau or similar

Education

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience

EXPECTED HOURS

  • Full time position – regular office hours Monday to Friday, typically 8:00am to 5:00pm (aka, “core hours”) with flexibility on start & end times. Employee must be available during the core hours and will work over a continuous 9-hour timeframe day, with one-hour break for lunch
