Front End Developer

The Software Developer (Front-End) is responsible for creating compelling, interactive, customer-facing online solutions for AHP Servicing and its sister companies – specifically, our collective web sites (traditional, mobile) and related online assets used to engage with investors, clients, customers and borrowers
This role requires strong programming expertise, understanding of content management systems (CMS) along with an appreciation for subjective considerations related to User Experience (UX) – while this position is not expected to act as a senior UX designer, a passion for clean, intuitive design is critical to the front-end Software Developer’s success at AHP.
Hands-on expertise with WordPress customization and theme development is required.
Collaborative participation during the Discovery phase is paramount – this role is expected to interact with a variety of individuals across the various organizations when working to take something from concept to sufficiently scoped and ultimately deployed (per Agile methodology).
Collaboration includes working with business, operations and marketing staff as well as other technical and non-technical contributors to ensure alignment of final web design with stated business objectives and UX goals; web page optimization and adherence to brand guidelines across all online components is central to the set of duties as well.

Job Requirements

  • Hands-on, direct software development (front-end) leveraging appropriate programming languages (see next section, Job Requirements)
  • Work closely with AHP’s Super Admin for WordPress to coordinate on new and recurring responsibilities
  • Perform Administrator-level design and support within the WordPress content management system
  • Design, maintain, update all front-end components across all online assets
  • Participate in Discovery and deliver final online solutions, focused on business objectives, client input and User Experience best practices
  • Build useable & reusable code for future use (enhancements)
  • Optimize web pages for speed, usability and scalability across all major web browsers (standard and mobile)
  • Collaborate with clients to understand and deliver nuanced solutions specific to their respective needs
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand and deliver stand-alone, cross-functional web-based solutions aligned with AHP's strategic goals
  • Conduct pre-UAT testing (QA testing) of online solutions before presenting to internal/external parties for UAT review
  • Create online solutions focused on intuitive design, ease of use and speed - culminating in a positive, seamless experience for all online visitors
  • Review, prioritize and correct bugs as they are identified
  • Communicate any day-to-day or recurring concerns related to online system performance and/or design to leadership
  • Ingest, assess and share relevant software development trends and new functionality with leadership for future state considerations
  • Assist with implementation of various online projects per management’s direction, perform other duties as assigned by management

Role Requirements

  • Highly proficient with WordPress – including theme design, functionality
  • Strong User Interface knowledge based on real-world experience
  • Extremely fluent with CSS, HTML, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Strong understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles
  • Quick learner – ability to adapt to new, market-driven requirements and deliver updated, enhanced solutions
  • Broad knowledge of overall web development process – from design to development to testing to launch to post-launch review
  • Ability to work closely with other Software Developers, Software Engineers and Business Analysts to arrive at combined, integrated solutions
  • Comfortable working with Software Engineers to ensure front-end design aligns with back-end requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-development teams, including Sales, Client Management, Marketing, Operations, Compliance and Senior Leadership
  • Fluent with MSFT 365/Office features and functionality (end-user)
  • Results Oriented – proven track record of delivering quantifiable results to an enterprise-level organization
  • Skilled at relationship building with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong organization and time management skills


  • 2+ years of front-end software development experience (leveraging CSS, HTML, JavaScript and jQuery) required
  • 2+ years of direct, hands-on experience with WordPress required
  • 2+ years of experience with Responsive and Adaptive design required
  • 1+ years of experience with WordPress Administrator role preferred
  • 1+ years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar preferred
  • Knowledge of data integration and database concepts


  • Full time position with regular office hours Monday through Friday, typically 8:45 to 5:30 and weekend work may be required from time to time, with some flexibility on start and end times allowed. The employee must be available during the core hours and will work an 8:45- hour day, with a 45 unpaid Lunch breaks and a paid break
