Foreclosure Specialist II

Description

This position will be responsible for the management of a high volume of default servicing matters, including both routine and contested foreclosure matters. The Foreclosure Specialist is responsible for timely processing of residential foreclosure matters in compliance with all state laws and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Ensure assigned foreclosure loans are handled in accordance with company policies and procedures, investor guidelines, state laws, and federal regulations
  • Monitor the foreclosure process to ensure the loan/file is being worked and proceeds to sale in a timely manner. This includes interaction with outside counsel
  • Monitor the preparation and execution of all documents related to the foreclosure action
  • Interface and coordinate with other departments, as needed, to ensure the seamless transfer of files into and out of the department
  • Review real estate tax certifications to determine tax status and process payment of delinquent real estate taxes to a tax collector
  • Ensure that properties in foreclosure are properly registered with the city or county (if required)
  • Update electronic loan files on a regular basis and maintain data integrity
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments internally to resolve issues
  • Order and gather required diligence items related to various loan strategies. This includes interaction with third party vendors and sub-servicers
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Education/Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of in a residential loan servicing or default loan servicing experience
  • BKFS/LPS experience as related to foreclosure process
  • MSP knowledge and experience preferred
  • Broad servicing and default knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of loan servicing especially as related to foreclosures and contested foreclosures
  • Strong time-management skills and communication skills
  • Strong aptitude for assessing, understanding and quantifying risk
  • Able to adapt to change and work effectively with senior management and outside counsel
  • Able to work independently
  • Proven track record in delivering timely and accurate information in a fast paced environment

Other: : Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or higher is preferred

Expected Hours

  • Full time position with regular office hours Monday through Friday, typically 8:45 to 5:30 and weekend work may be required from time to time, with some flexibility on start and end times allowed. The employee must be available during the core hours and will work an 8:45- hour day, with a 45 unpaid Lunch breaks and a paid break.

Physical Demands

  • This is largely a sedentary role, with filing requirements that would entail the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, bend, stand, and stoop. May be required to lift supplies and files.
